Ayumi Girl of the Borneo Forest tells the story of a young Japanese girl with the ability to communicate with animals telepathically. Her father is an executive of a logging company, sent to Borneo along with his family to carry out his task to supply timber to Japan. In the process an Orangutan is captured and made ready to ship to China. Ayumi begs her father to let him go but to no avail. She devises a plan to release him and sets off a chain of events that finds her living in the forest with a wild Orangutan.
